My name is Christina Welch.  I have been a school counselor for over 15 years in North Carolina.  I believe in the power of school counseling to change our communities and save lives.  I have served as President of the NC School Counseling Association for the 2015-2016 school year.  I currently serve on the NC Strategic Leadership Team and the NC Whole Child Committee.  I worked with SREB to develop a college-going culture module for elementary counselors and currently facilitate the modules offered by the College Foundation of NC about the counselor’s role in Post Secondary access.  I live in Boone, NC with my husband John and my two children Madison and Cam.  My favorite thing to do as a counselor is to take students on field trips and give them a real-world experience!
